The Academic Advising Unit at Mohammad Al-Mana College of Health Sciences (MACHS) ensures that students get effective academic advising by assigning them to academic advisors as soon as they gain admission into the college. Consequently, students are being mentored from orientation to graduation.
The Academic Advisors assist new students in making a smooth transition to college and to achieving their career goals. They also help students to understand the college policies, career plans, course registration, class scheduling, academic probations and connect them with the resources and opportunities the college has to offer.
It is very important for the students to take active role in the advising process and be responsible for their academic pursuit.
The mission of the academic advising at MACHS is to help students make responsible decisions as they develop educational plans consistent with their career and life goals.
The academic advisors are committed to:
Quality: to provide quality, holistic advice that meets each student’s unique needs.
Collaboration: collaborate with other faculty members and staff in the college to support the students’ academic pursuits.
Confidentiality: maintain confidentiality.
Diversity: focus on the diverse needs of students.
Respect: establish a mutual relationship with students based on respect, care and shared responsibilities.
