Research Application Steps

First

The researcher submits a proposal or research application to the Head of Department (HoD).

Second

The researcher should complete the online National Institute of Health (NIH) course “Protecting Human Research Participants.”

Third

The applicant’s HoD must approve the proposal for the application to proceed.

Fourth

The application and approved proposal are forwarded to the Scientific Research Unit (SRU).

Fifth

The SRU approves or disapproves the application.

Sixth

If approved, the application is sent to the Dean with the proposal.

Seventh

The proposal is referred to the Head of the Board of Trustees and the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
